I think what makes the advice of breaking things up into smaller tasks challenging is how context-dependent it can be. Sometimes, I can eke out a substack rough draft in a single evening but other times, I need to break it up into multiple writing sessions because I’m working through a more complex structure.
But I do agree with more deadlines for smaller tasks rather than just one big deadline. And +1 to trying to do less and settling for getting one small task done since it’s better than doing nothing. Easier said than done though to break the all-or-nothing mindset.

Agreed on all counts! Yet another frustrating thing about adhd…we just never know what kind of mood our brains will be in!
